Pitched a fit about the shoes but came around. His attention for the game lasted a bit longer. And when he took to wishing he could wander around he was given two options. Keep playing or sit down near by. He opted for sitting at the table next to our lane and enjoyed a snack while the boys finished their game. Much better experience this time.

Then and Now
This one is from a few weeks ago . . .
A few weeks ago we went to visit Christopher's Great Me-Me. These pictures are in a series of him jumping on the couch and interacting with his Great Me-Me and her Teddy Bear. The last picture is him laying in the dog bed in her bedroom. He kept removing himself and going to lay in Mandy's bed to take little breaks from being in a strange place. Then the swing from the playground across the street from her home. Lastly a picture of Hawk, Great Me-Me and Great Uncle Chuck.

The Beach

This was an amazing day. We all had so much fun. Often times when we venture off on such an outing we all circle around Christopher keeping him happy. Trying to get ahead of any upset that he may have to eliminate the tantrum. But this day was just plain fun. No fuss, just fun by all. Christopher enjoyed all of it. He tolerated the beach noise, the beach breeze, the sand (though he did wear his socks all day) and the waves were amazingly fun. BIG waves with strong rip tide meant that there were a lot of people near the waters edge since going out too far was not aloud. Still Christopher didn't care. He truly enjoyed all the beach had to offer! We will definitely being doing this again next summer.

Butterfly Conservatory
Lots of fun at the Butterfly Conservatory. While he didn't stay put at any point to discuss what we were seeing, he did do a lot of pointing this trip. At one point he stopped to say cheese for the camera. We enjoyed an ice-cream cone in the cafe afterwards. And then we crossed the street to climb on the old train cars. Almost immediately upon leaving in the car he fell asleep.

Big boy bed - this is a month old now - just getting around to posting.
So about a month ago the crib was in his closet with a gate across the door. But the little monkey was climbing over the gate so rather than just remove the gate I decided to remove the crib bed from the closet and now it is an extension of the big boy bed. For the past month he has been going to bed no with no problems. Each time we raise the bar he meets it with great stride. I did put jingle bells on his door so I could hear him leaving his room. But even that hasn't been necessary. He announces himself in the morning. "Mommy, whara yoo?" Maybe once we settle in to the preschool routine the crib will disappear all together. But for now this works just fine.
Visiting the school playground
Last night Christopher and I went to The Creamy for Ice Cream, sat on the Mim's Market porch and visited with our good friend Martha, then went to play at the school playground.
I have no idea why, but maybe a sensory seeking event, each time we go he licks the big rocks! Gross!
