I have really no pictures - hopefully someone will share some with me. I put the camera away and was just completely present to the everything that was happening.
This year was so much fun with Christopher. He really got into the swing of things this year. It did take a couple of days to convince him that it was OK that we had a tree indoors. He was pretty upset and tugged on it to drag it closer to the door singing "clean up - clean up". We opted for no ornaments mainly due to our new kitten, and honestly one less thing to do. So I loaded it with lights. Non-blinking, but still that didn't go over well either. We only got away with them lit if he was distracted, even then I would find that he had unplugged them. Oh well. Good thing I got our tree from the church and it only cost me 10 dollars. He was caught randomly singing "Jenga Bills, Jenga Bills EE ta way!" on a few occasions. The night before Christmas Eve I set up the Nativity while he was in bed - it was the first thing he spotted looking down from the upstairs railing - he B-lined to it dragging his KK (Kaleigh) with him. (She and Kate, also KK spent the night to prepare for a LARGE family gathering.) He spent quiet a long time playing with all the figures and animals - ultimately they were all laid down to sleep. :-) .
We had 24 people at our house during the day on Christmas Eve. Wow was that crazy busy! But nice.
I craftily wrote our Christmas Eve invite ensuring that it had an end time! SO by 5pm it was just me, Dan and the boys giving us some good down time to enjoy peace and quiet of the eve. We missed going to Church on Christmas Eve (Or at all for that matter since Christopher just can't handle it, and I swear Hockey players are doomed - most Sunday games are at 8am in Springfield.) Oh well - Christopher keeps making many improvements - maybe church will again be in our future.
The next morning of course our tween sleeps in, so when Christopher discovered more gifts had been placed under the tree on Christmas morning he got real excited. All I said to him was that we would have to wait for Daniel. Suggested that he go wake him . . . and next thing I hear is him running into Daniels room telling Daniel - "Wake up - ho ho here!" This promoted Daniel to slither downstairs probably more out of curiosity than excitement. Ha ha - TWEENS!
First gift and he kept saying "It fir me? It fir me?" By the next two or three no gift was safe - paper was flying everywhere! Pure excitement!
