This morning Christopher was watching an old episode of Jimmy Neutron - it was a Christmas episode, and so it prompted him to ask;
Christopher: It's Christmas, where are the presents?
Me: No Christmas is a long time from now.
Christopher: Oh. :-(
Me: But your Birthday is coming up. Soon you will be four!
Christopher: NO! I don't want 4!!!
Me: Ok, but there will be presents.
Christopher: In motion - pauses and says, OH, Ok FINE! in a still disappointed voice for learning that Christmas isn't for awhile - but deciding to live with being Four for the presents.
Join us in our daily adventures of everyday life "the early days". The joys, the frustrations, the celebrations, the love, the learning, the patience, the . . . the list is long, the journey; so worth it!

Love our Sponge Bob!
We had fun with the Lucco Girls at Laruel Lake Yesterday!
Last night Christopher and I engaged in some really fantastic imaginary play. We took turns being different characters from Sponge Bob. This morning he proclaimed Daddy was Squidward.
We have been making a lot of crabby patties lately with our play dough that he got for Christmas that until now had remained unopened and only used to stack a tower of play dough cans up high to knock down. Now we are opening them and squishing it in our hands.
So much progress continues as summer is speeding by.
Potty training is complete - so that I just dropped off a bag of all remaining diapers and pull ups to a person in town that has a little boy.
This afternoon Christopher insisted on helping me to make a sandwich (PB&J) and then proceeded to eat the whole thing! Not his first sandwich this summer but first to help and eat the whole thing.
He stayed interacting with the girls for there entire visit yesterday! No breaks needed. Even continued to engage with them even asking them to do certain play things with him.
I have been really busy balancing two different types of summer fun, one for a toddler and one for a teen all the while having to do work for Sr and our business too. So there have been times where the TV has been a tool for me to get the things done that I NEED to get done before play. I guess I have been saying - "Not right now I am busy." a lot because now Christopher is using it on me too. Well got do what you got to do - not a bad thing for him to learn that sometimes you just have to wait.

Ok - so this is not one of my most proud mommy moments! But . . .
But this was a fun family giggle that I just had to record. I know this shouldn't be funny - but really it was. Also the fact that he has already figured out how to use his big brothers new phone game apps in less than 24 hrs is impressive.
I also noticed that Daniel does the same thing that I do when Christopher is speaking. That is we interpret (repeat) his words more clearly for those around us.

The Drive In!
So what if it's raining, the drive in is fun!
We were 5 car long in the front row. Tarps hung from car to car. ALL of the cousin where with us. Joining us from MA,NH, and CO! 8 of them plus Hawk and Christopher. AND Hawk brought 3 buddies.
Summertime memory maker for sure!
We saw Cars2 and Green Lantern.
Christopher was great! He timed a nap to perfection!!!! He fell asleep on the way which enabled us to park set up and enjoy some time with the older kids. Then he woke with plenty of time to play on the rickety play group (a must at the drive in).
The movie didn't start till after 8:30 but with a nap under his belt he was go to go.
We even got to visit with a young school buddy of his that was parked just a few rows back. He and "Jaz" had fun running and playing tag.
During the movie he pretty much stood on the front seat sticking his head out the passenger window the hole time. The rainy warm weather kept fogging up the window. But he didn't care, McQueen was on the biggest screen he'd ever seen.
The distance to home is not long - so after the movie - Sr and I divided in true parent teaming fashion. C and I went home and Sr stayed on with the others for the second very late movie! C was very unhappy to be leaving.
The next morning he replaced his usual morning greeting with a stern demand.
"Mommy! I go back to movie NOW!" Spoken through gritted teeth.
Hope we get one more trip in this summer.

Fun conversations
Arriving at the Six Flags Park
"Mommy! Its the FUN!!!"
Mommy coming in from work.
"Mommy you are home! Play with me."
Retrieving a toy purchased and left in the car from the day before.
"Mommy where da space shuddle go?"
It is in the car.
"I go get it."
We go together. I retrieve it from the bag and hand it to him.
"Mommy, you did it. Thanks Dude!"
Helping him to wipe a wet toy.
"Mommy, I need da towel."
Mommy helps to wipe toy dry.
"Mommy, you did it. Great Job!"

Mommy a rainbow!

Tonight while driving out of a storm we saw a rainbow to our left. From the back seat "Mommy, a rainbow!!!" Mr Christopher was very excited to see a true live rainbow for his first time.
He calls Lucky Charms cereal - His "Rainbow" snack because he picks out and only eats the marshmallows leaving the rest of us with a not so lucky breakfast.

OOPS - First true accident - but then still even only a near fail.
I was doing laundry and saw Christopher run by. Thought that was weird, but welcomed that fact that he wasn't coming in to tumble the folded clothes per usual order but then I hear his little voice from the bathroom; all I heard was "oh man, oh man, . . . . . oh man"
Standing in a lake of pee at the base of the potty he stood frozen unsure what to do next. Thankfully he just stood there and didn't run back out over the carpet with wet pants.
Me: "Oops, looks like you waited too long."
Christopher: "Oh man."
Me: "No big deal, it is OK. I will take off you wet clothes and you can take a shower to clean the pee off your legs."
Christopher: "OK I was my legs."
No big deal - time to give a good wash to the floor anyway - today it gets bleach. :-)

Feed the Monkey
Me: Christopher want a banana?
Christopher: No Mommy, feed it to the monkey.
Me: That is what I am trying to do. (Insert Laugh)
Christopher: Giggles.
