School Picture

Hair cut was a challange - but we managed to eek one in just in time for school picture day.
Pictures where set up in the gym.  On the day of picture takes he and I stopped in the gym before going to his classroom and we talked about how it worked.  He was so excited to get his picture taken!

things I have heard over the last few weeks

Me: I Love You
Christopher: I Love You Too

Christopher: Mom can I take my truck?
Me: No, not today.
Christopher: Why?

Following first play date on way home.
Christopher: I want my "name" friend back.  I miss him.

First Play Date

Today being a half day we have set up a play date with a friend from school.  They are having a good time - but I forgot how much work real playdates are at this age.  Clearly I need to network the friend circle better and do more of these more often so that they get easier.  Also clear is that if my guy is having this much trouble with the parrell play of a peer for a 2 hour visit - then he is not ready to go to others houses yet.  Don't get me wrong he is doing just fine, but he is needing some assistance from me to make sure that his friend is eaqually in charge of the play.  Not sure that I know any of the other parents well enough to think that they would or could want to attempt this. So for now we will stick to home play.

Amazing to me is the difference in his personality with a friend play date vs the cousin play dates.  He actually I think is being a bit of a show off at times.  This makes me smile.  Didn't see that coming . . . but given his family genes it shouldn't be that much of a shock. :-)

Trick or Treat

Years past have been a disappointment for me with a great deal of heart ache - just me not Christopher.  He has never really understood or cared about Halloween like most kids do.  Last year he enjoyed handing out candy on the porch at Mema's house (now gone, :-( from the tornado) and enjoyed seeing the monsters and creature that came to collect their treats.  That was fun, but still I felt sad for him because I felt like he was missing out.  He was happy though and I resigned myself to this was my issue not his.  After all he was just thrilled with observing.

Well we missed the official Halloween outing thanks to no power from snow storm but town selectmen post poned tilll this past Saturday.  Since he doesn't yet have a great concept of days and events he didn't realize that he missed Halloween - so as far as he knew we were game on.

The town did a great job to prepare for this yearly outing!  Cross guards at all the cross walks, and glow necklaces handed out by officers to all the kids.  How nice!  Thank You!

SO - this year!  He was a pirate!  AND we went trick or treating with a group of 9 kids and he had a blast!  He even is quiet protective of his candy bag in all the appropriate ways that kids hoard their loot!

Seems to me like a major information super highway has come online in his little head and there seems to be no end in sight for the growth we are whitnessing!

A, B, C, D, E, F, 6, 7 . . .

Begining to say his ABC's.  Singing I heard from the back seat last week on our way home from school.
"A, B, C, D, E, F, 6, 7"  Close enough to celebrate!  Keep up the good work Mr Christopher!

First Drawing of a Person.

Great Job Christopher!
Keep up the good work.
